Midlife Women Entreprenurs
Signs of High-Functioning Anxiety with Lisa Skeffington
2nd June 2026
Many women reach a stage in life where they appear successful on the outside, yet privately feel as though something is still holding them back. They work hard, achieve their goals and support everyone around them, but continue to question themselves, overthink decisions or struggle to fully own their value.
In my conversation with Lynette Turner on Midlife Women Entrepreneurs, we explored the internal barriers that often keep women from stepping into the next chapter of their lives and businesses with confidence. We talked about the unseen patterns that can influence the way we lead, make decisions and show up professionally, even when we appear capable and accomplished to others.
I shared why anxiety can sometimes disguise itself as drive and ambition, and how many women become so accustomed to operating under pressure that stress begins to feel normal. We also explored the impact of early experiences and the beliefs they can create about worth, success and belonging.
Throughout our discussion, we looked at how these patterns can influence confidence, boundaries and the choices we make in business and life. More importantly, we talked about how change begins through small, intentional actions that build trust in ourselves and create new possibilities.
For women navigating midlife, building a business, considering a new direction or simply questioning what comes next, this conversation offers practical insight, encouragement and the reminder that reinvention does not require becoming someone different. Often, it involves reconnecting with who you have been all along.
I thoroughly enjoyed this thoughtful conversation with Lynette, and I hope it encourages you to approach your next chapter with greater self-belief, purpose and compassion.
