Creating Mentally and Emotionally Strong Leaders with Lisa Skeffington

19th March 2026

In this episode, I talk about the reality behind high performance—and what often goes unseen when someone looks like they’re coping on the outside but struggling internally.

So many of the women I work with are driven, successful, and holding a lot together. Yet beneath that, there can be long-standing patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, burnout, and emotional overwhelm that rarely get addressed in traditional ways of working.

My approach, which I call psychodynamic mentoring, brings together psychotherapy, advanced hypnotherapy, and mentoring to support deeper, more lasting change. It’s about getting underneath the surface-level coping strategies and working with what’s actually driving them.

We also explore what it means to truly heal—not just manage symptoms, but shift the internal patterns that keep you stuck in overworking, overthinking, and over-functioning.

In this conversation, we look at:

  • Why high-achieving women often don’t respond to traditional therapeutic approaches

  • The difference between functioning well and feeling well

  • How hidden anxiety shows up in leadership, relationships, and decision-making

  • What it really means to build emotional wealth from the inside out

  • The shift from surviving success to actually feeling grounded within it

This work is ultimately about helping people move from holding it all together… to living with a sense of internal steadiness, confidence, and self-trust that doesn’t depend on constant achievement.
