Finding Courage to Heal Your Hidden Emotional Wounds

A young girl, dressed in white with dark brown hair, inspects a dandelion clock

Do you project confidence and capability, whilst deep down asking yourself if you are truly ‘enough’?

Many successful, professional women use a mask of self-assuredness as a way of moving forward without addressing underlying issues and trauma.

If you were abused as a child, you may have never spoken about it.

Abuse can take many forms—sexual, physical, emotional, or psychological—and often involves a combination of these.

If, like many of my clients, your experiences were ignored or dismissed by those around you, you are likely left with deep-seated scars that affect every aspect of your life today, even long after the abuse has ended.

You might find that these past traumas now manifest as relationship difficulties, a lack of confidence to communicate fully, trust issues, and low self-esteem

Despite your achievements, do you struggle with persistent attempts to block out these memories, only to find them resurfacing in ways you don’t always see coming?

This is more common than you may realise.

Many of my clients struggle with feelings of anger, guilt, helplessness, and powerlessness as a result of abuse.

It’s not uncommon for these feelings to leave you feeling stuck, plagued by nightmares, flashbacks, and triggers that remind you of the abuse.

You may even feel as if it's happening all over again. I remember that feeling. Such experiences can lead to chronic anxiety and depression in your daily life, as they did for me.

Understanding and Healing from Past Abuse

Psycho-dynamic psychotherapy and advanced hypnotherapy facilitate a supportive and intimate space to address the consequences of abuse without re-visiting the trauma repeatedly.

This gentle yet effective process focuses on helping you understand and work through your feelings, empowering you to draw on your strengths as a survivor rather than a victim. By doing so, you begin to learn to trust again, acknowledge your own strengths, and cultivate a healthier belief system, all of which support you in moving forward in your life.

As an adult, you have choices that you didn't have as a child.

You were controlled and powerless back then. Now you have the power to reclaim control over your life. You can choose to heal, learn to like yourself, and value yourself again. It is a journey towards thriving in a life you truly want, as the woman you were always meant to be.
